How Global Selling works.
Mercado Libre's program that lets you sell in 5 LATAM countries from a single account, paid in USD. Explained without jargon.
Single account
One account. Five marketplaces.
With one Global Selling account you access MercadoLibre.com.mx, .com.br, .cl, .com.co and .com.ar. One panel, one KYC, five countries.
Your Global Selling account
Commercial model
List for free. Pay when you sell.
Listing
No listing or subscription fee. Publish as many SKUs as you like.
Sales commission
MELI charges a commission per transaction. Varies by country and category, typically 11%–20%. Deducted from the payout.
USD payout. Payouts land in USD in a Hong Kong or US bank account, on each country's settlement cycle (typically 8–14 days after sale).
Logistics solutions
Four models. One for each volume and category.
Fulfillment
MELI holds your stock in its local warehouse. Buy Box, fast shipping, better reputation. Requires stock in advance.
Direct-to-Consumer
You ship each order from China to the buyer. No local stock. Longer delivery times.
Fulfillment in US
Stock consolidated in the US. Fast delivery to Mexico with lower capital risk.
Full China
Consolidated shipping from China to the destination country's MELI warehouse. Balance between cost and speed.
Mercado Ads
Pay-as-you-go. No minimums.
Mercado Libre's internal ads system. Push listings to the top of search results and category pages. CPC model, daily budget control, per-SKU activation. Critical to launch (no reputation yet) and to compete in busy categories.
Reputation & SLA
The traffic light that decides your account.
| Level | Approximate requirements |
|---|---|
| Green (Mercado Líder) | ≤ 2% cancellations, ≤ 4% claims, ≥ 95% on-time dispatch |
| Yellow | Metrics in the alert zone. Buy Box at risk. |
| Red | Listings paused. Account at suspension risk. |
API integration
For operations at volume.
Beyond 500 SKUs or 1,000 orders/month, MELI's API becomes essential: syncing stock, prices, listings and fulfillment with your ERP or WMS. We design the integration around your stack.
What matters
All of this is public.
The difference is how you structure it.
Mercado Libre publishes its documentation. Anyone can read it. What's hard is turning it into an operation that invoices and scales in five markets without burning capital. That's where we work.
